how much is that tree in front of the kiosk getting paid to get plastered?  the kiosk owner doesn´t care and.it´s just plain wrong,

Jan would have something more interesting to say about this type of thing.

rel.: i hate advertising

Twestival Rosario: here

4 days, 5 nights to go.

kids are divine

dinner at my mom´s yesterday.

uncles were there. and my cousin who´s visiting. their children were there.

Juan Cruz, Alejo, Valentino. and the wonderful Paulina.

there was a children´s book laying around that my mom wanted to give little Paulina. it was a Heidi coloring book. it wasn´t used, except for one part. and it said:

Hi Heidi, i want to tell you that i swear, swear, swear, i promise, swear, swear, but i swear that i hate you! "bitch"

well, aren´t kids just divine.

Heladero

Heron´s observations of Argentina

-the cars are all pretty old. you’re not gonna see nothin nice or new here.nope, no benz’s, no range rovers, no bmw’s, no bentleys, no audi’s, no aston martins.
-when someone saw my blackberry, she described it to look like a “bed with buttons”, because everyone here just use very “primitive” phones. as basic as you can get.used only for calls and texts.
-i didn’t know empanadas were a national dish. they are sold everywhere. my favorite is carne picante.
-pesos are a third of the dollar, right now. $200 pesos is $60 - it’s cheap here.
-services here operate just like nyc! And in some aspects are just plain better. you can order delivery beer at 4am, and there isn’t a minimum!
-everyone drives pretty crazy. there are lanes marked on the street, but drivers make up their own lanes.
-there are ton’s of taxi’s everywhere.
-the spanish is not identical to european spanish or mexican spanish. and some words are pronounced differently.
-the city is pretty big, and each barrio (neighborhood) has it’s own flavor. some parts you will think you’re in a third world, where other parts you’ll feel like you’re stepping into a house on the champs elysees.
-there are tons and tons of pregnant women
-don’t come here if you’re a vegetarian, because this country is built on beef!
-the girls are FUCKING HOT.

new driver license

just got it.

funny thing is i´d forgotten my glasses for the psychophysical exam and the nice lady let me by, but when i went to have the picture taken they needed to take the picture with my glasses on, no questions asked.
so, when i told the photo guy i´d forgotten my glasses he looks to they guy on his left, extends his hand and says, "Jorge". And "Jorge" opens a drawer and pulls out a pair of the ugliest fucking glasses i´d ever seen. we laughed. (photo is exaggerated for story embellishment purposes).

maybe they could be uglier i said, maybe they could be clown style glasses, who cares, this way no one will ever forget their glasses again.

thank you Jorge

i´d like to add that the atention at the municipal centre has improved a hell of a lot. i got my appointment by phone, my traffic-ticket free waiver from the internet and in an hour got everything done. well done Rosario.gov.

bombín

or this.

today is Alvaro´s birthday. he used it once for the Alex custome.

AC on?

definitely.
i wish they made ACs with those strips attached. distinct strips for distinct AC personalities. customizable.

Jan Chipchase would say, "the visual practicalness of ON".

my machine

i use phones like i use underwear and socks, ´till disintegration.
no camera. no infrared. no bluetooth. no apps. no games. no color.
just huge blistered balls.
this is my machine.

i´m tah-eared

i´m tired of all the mtfs ´round here listening to coldplay and singin´with that sissy ass whistly voice.

 <3 you lot anyways.

like when

you want to post something and you forget in the middle of the title.

i´m zombie, going to bed.

multiwhatever priorities

a good song* before an interesting youtube video.

*the fact that you can´t watch the pending youtube video because of the song, makes it a good song.

maybe it´s due to my short-lived memory

but i never had a discussion with a friend about blogs. a beer drinking couch slacking maybe backyard green easy livin´discussion with a friend about blogs. a mention, like you saw this one kind of mention. but nothing deep.

so what.

the importance of stems

we´re used to having everything done for us. picking, washing, cutting, trimming, mixing, heating, cooling, pressure cooking, fermentating. this way you get used to having things "ready". nothing to do but eat.
i was doing that on friday night, eating olives. and one of them had it´s stem still on. i must admit it was the first time i´d seen the stem still hanging on to one. it surprised me. and it also said, hey, i´m real, i was on a tree. olives usually aren´t fresh, they´re always soaked in a vinegary juice for conservation. but that´s what a stem said to me, i´m something fresh.
we all know how important the perception of freshness is, it´s key in the kitchen, it´s every TV cooking guy´s word of the month.
so from now on i will treasure stems more than i used to. any fruit, vegy, juice or person with stems is something fresh to me.

zebra and yellow

doodling on scissors i realized how well zebra and yellow go together.

thank you google images for zebra and yellow images.

((( grrr ))) : suckness has good reverberation

hey, you know the other day i was
"´cause you had a bad day, taken one down..."
in the supermarket and i was watching this lady
"´cause you had a bad day, taken one down..."
squeeze the hell out of all the tomatoes. it was funny because
"´cause you had a bad day, take one down..."
she´d toss one back in the box and move on to the next one.
"´cause you had a bad day, take one down..."
she probably took only 3 tomatoes.
"´cause you had a bad day, take one down..."
she had a squeeze-buy ratio of 20-3.

grrr ringtones.

"´cause you had a bad day, take one down..." is one of the account guys´ ringtones. it frankly sucks. and it´s suckness reaches every corner of the agency. so it must have good reverberation.

i admit i like the animal sound ones for text message alerts, like a frog or a horse, but that´s it. i prefer the old ring ring for everything else.

observation all over again

i believe observation is one of the pilars of what i do. i did my thesis about it: observation for creative writing. i was surprised at the implications that something so obvious had on everything that mattered to me professionally in communication.

observation in brand building, observation for stereotype killin´, observation for originality, observation to pave the way. in the end, observation for ideas.

observation is an attitude. that´s why taking up a writing workshop with other people or an art seminar from a guy who´s been places or rocking in a band or writing about music, blogging, and sharing what you see in general to get feedback on points of view, basically, staying in touch with reality and people will always be fun, but also, useful to keep your feet on the ground and close to the people you´re going to be talking to in the end.

anyways i found this here. Jan Chipchase is awesome. this guy is a real observer. read his blog. also, see how technology can help us observe, share and work, as a comms guy or whatever. this presentation is about design, product development and it´s interesting because the spark is what? yes, the attitude of observation.
